When it comes to lip augmentation, some patients prefer a more permanent solution than injecting dermal fillers and toxins into and around their lips. Lip lift surgery lifts the skin between the nose and the upper lip to achieve a softer and fuller appearance naturally.

Austin Face & Body has surgeons who are experts in facial and lip shape and motion who will help you create a long-lasting lift with a very well-disguised incision. The lip lift procedure is done right here in our office and requires only local anesthesia.

Beautiful lips, forever

Patients love lip lift surgery because they get beautiful results that are extremely natural looking—permanently. Instead of lip fillers, which provide temporary results, a lip lift means that you don’t need to keep returning for more treatments. The procedure involves a very small amount of tissue being removed from just beneath the nose. The outcome is broader lips, a larger smile, and enhanced confidence.

Why get a lip lift?

For many individuals, the upper lip thins with age, increasing the space between the lips and the nose. This can result in an older appearance, which can have a serious impact on your self-esteem. This is an excellent reason to consider a lip lift. A lip lift provides more red lip show of the upper lip, making the lip appear fuller and more youthful. There are also younger patients who love the idea of lip fillers, but want a permanent treatment instead of returning every so often to get maintenance injections. Either way, a lip lift achieves lovely results.

A tailor-made procedure

Every patient has a unique face, a unique mouth, and a unique smile. Therefore, every lip lift patient requires a customized procedure that takes their specific traits and aesthetic goals into consideration. During the procedure, the shorter the philtrum becomes, the more the top lip is extended and made to look fuller. This is an area of discussion during your consultation, where a tailor-made treatment plan will be created just for you.

What is the surgery like?

A lip lift is an outpatient procedure that takes less than an hour, and is performed in-office under local anesthesia.

Recovery and results

After a lip lift procedure, there may be redness, bruising, and/or a tight or swollen feeling around the mouth, but this will go away within a couple of weeks. Stitches will remain for a week, at which time they will be removed.

The incisions will take about six to eight weeks to appear normal, and swelling should dissipate completely within a month. Patients will be able to see final results from their lip lift about six weeks after treatment, and the tiny scar will fade within a year. You will not need to return for additional treatments, as you would with lip fillers.
