There comes a day when your favorite leggings betray you.
The waistband still fits. The color still slays. But suddenly… something about them just feels off. A little rubbing. A little pinching. A “why do I want to take these off halfway through Pilates” situation.
Spoiler: it’s not the Lululemons.
It’s you — or more specifically, your hormones.
Here’s What’s Actually Happening
Your body is constantly evolving.
Estrogen rises, falls, and drags your tissue, skin, and fat distribution along for the ride. Maybe you had a baby. Maybe you switched birth control. Maybe you’re in the perimenopause chapter no one prepped you for.
And when estrogen dips?
- Skin gets thinner and drier.
 - Labial tissue loses elasticity.
 - The mons and outer labia can shift — adding new pressure points you didn’t sign up for.

Basically, the soft tissue that used to glide now grabs.
What That Means for You
If your leggings suddenly feel scratchy or your underwear starts to bunch, it’s not in your head. It’s your anatomy giving you a little nudge: HelloOOo, something’s DiFfErEnT down there!
And sometimes, the fix is surgical — and that’s okay.
For some women, no cream, laser, or hormone gel is going to make tissue that’s been stretched or thinned bounce back. That’s where things like a labiaplasty, vaginal tightening, or a small fat transfer (what I call a “labial puff”) can be helpful and even transformative. Because comfort is important, and it's nice to know that there is an option.
And luckily, that’s kind of my thing. Contact us at Austin Face & Body today to schedule your appointment and take the first step toward regaining your confidence and feeling like yourself again.
