Risks & Recovery
At Austin Face & Body, most of our patients return to work and their social activities within one to two weeks. Plenty of bedrest is advised for the first days following surgery, with very light exercise, a good diet, and intermittent ice pack application helping greatly to reduce swelling. Pain is easily managed with pain medication that patients may take for a few days. A bandage may be worn around the neck and lower face for the first part of recovery. As swelling subsides and bruises disappear, the results of your neck lift begin to emerge and you will notice a smoother, firmer neckline that is free of deep creases, wrinkles, and jowls.
Choose the Right Surgeon
One of the most important decisions you’ll make is your choice of surgeon. It’s important to find a surgeon with years or experience and a keen understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the neck. At Austin Face & Body, many of our neck lift surgeons have decades of experience and are board-certified facial plastic surgeons.
