This lovely patient is six weeks post-op from a breast augmentation. She wanted maximal projection and cleavage with an implant size that would appear full, while not cause long-term irreversible damage to the soft tissues. I placed Sientra 415 cc high profile gel implants under the muscle via small incisions in the folds of her breasts. She loves her result, and we really enjoy seeing her huge smile every time she returns to clinic for a post-op check!

Implant projection describes how far off the chest wall an implant will extend. Projection is mainly controlled by the width of the implant, but also the cohesivity of the gel to a certain extent. For example, you can have a 300 cc implant with a width of 10, 11, or 12 cm. As the volume is spread out over a larger distance, the projection goes down! I take detailed measurements and use tissue planning systems to personalize each patient’s augmentation result.
